'Champagne is on the verge of a profound change....... The era of great growers and great vineyards is just beginning' - Andrew Jefford

Since the Champagne 'method' was invented in the early 1700s, the market has been progressively dominated by the large negociant 'houses' and their now famous brands. To achieve this dominance, the large houses have had to buy grapes from the many small growers, who between them own most of the vineyard area. However more recently, an increasing number of growers have been inspired to make their own highly individual wines instead of selling their grapes to the big operators. The result is that something of a revolution is finally taking place in the region and so this tasting will focus on a range of superb grower Champagnes and the resons why they are so special.

A Champagne masterclass will take place from 7pm with aperitifs at 8pm and dinner at 8.20pm. Click here to view the evening's menu.

To book your places please call Nina on 01784 480414. Tickets are priced at £75 for Club Members (RRP £95). We anticipate demand to be high so please book early to avoid disappointment.
